Family Pictures!

Here’s my crew! My sweet and gracious boy (hubby), Dave, our 17 yo son, Kaleb (KJ), 15 yo son, Brody (BZ), 13 yo son, Luke (Louie), and 5yo beloved black boy, Rifle. Black Labs Matter too! Yes, I did really say that and yes, that really is his name.  I guess that’s just how the A Team rolls!😄 oh it’s kinda a fun story so I’ll share.  My husband goes dove and duck hunting and so when we got a yellow lab our first year of marriage (our first ‘kid’...we always said it good training for the real thing...I can share more about the lessons we learned if anyone is interested🐶 but I digress), he wanted to name his “gun-dog” Gunner, I loved the name so we did (it’s also our middle son’s middle name...but again I digress & can share that story later if there’s interest🤓). He was the BEST dog but unfortunately he ended up having 3 major heart problems that ended his ‘gun-dog’ career before it started and sadly shortened his sweet life. Well, dear Gunner’s reputation preceded him with our boys and so when we got a black lab (who came from a breeder who bred and trained hunting dogs and was the son of the youngest master-level trained hunting dogs in the country) for Christmas, they wanted to follow in suit and up the ante by naming him Rifle...if you’re looking for a basketball player, who better than Michael Jordan’s kid, right?? ...well, he ended up being an even bigger gun-dog fail. The way I describe it is he’s bald guy named Curly😁

Back to the story of our pictures. Our great God just continues to pour out His blessings through His people! We finally got to go back to church on Sunday!... at least the high school youth group which our 15&17 yo sons attend and where my husband & I are leaders. While we were there,  I was talking to a dear friend, and fellow leader/mom.  She asks me, “have you thought about getting family pictures before all your hair comes out?” Which it was already well on its way! I was like, “no, but that sounds like a great idea!” “Great, cuz I have someone to take them. When are you available?” Ends up the only day that worked for this sweet, busy photographer, for our family, and for my hair was Monday! Once again, God makes all things beautiful in His time! I seriously could not have gone another day and had “picture-worthy” hair! Even as it was, it was a miracle and the blessing of a dear hair-dresser friend who rode in with her cape on to save the day, my hair and the family pictures! Another friend stopped by to help me with my makeup (I clearly need a lot of help!) Beyond grateful to all who made this day possible and to the One who blessed me with all of them!💞

God is Good!

Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...

Song in my Soul

Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too! There's a song in my soul ( how music goes deep into the core of who we are!) And I feel it stirring in me ( springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!) This I know for sure ( faith is the assurance of what we know but don’t see) That Your love is like a flood ( washing & washing over me ! And Your mercy never ending ( “ The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬)  I give my song to You ( “ Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants...Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastl...
