Saturday Song for the Soul 3

 Sometimes on this journey

I get lost in my mistakes (too many times!)

What looks to me like weakness
Is a canvas for your strength
(PTL things are not as they appear to me as they are in my Father’s House, my home forever! “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9-10‬ )

And my story isn't over (Not til He completes it!)
My story's just begun (the Author of my very life, physically & spiritually, is writing it!)
And failure won't define me (so I won’t let it either)
'Cause that's what my Father does  (He’s says I’m His, a child of the King)
Yeah, failure won't define me (If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭
'Cause that's what my Father does (For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” Romans‬ ‭8:14-17‬)
Ooh, lay your burdens down (glad to! I can’t bear them on my own! “cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬)

Ooh, here in the Father's house (my home forever!)
Check your shame at the door (There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” Romans‬ ‭8:1-2‬ ‭
'Cause it ain't welcome anymore (Not in His home!)
Ooh, you're in the Father's house (Praise the Lord! give praise, O servants of the Lord, who stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God!” Psalm‬ ‭135:1-2‬)
Arrival's not the end game (And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:18‬)
The journey's where you are (“declares the Lord. “Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand” Jeremiah‬ ‭18:6‬)
You never wanted perfect
You just wanted my heart (And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭12:30‬)
And the story isn't over
If the story isn't good (For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬)
And failure's never final (And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ )
When the Father's in the room
And failure's never final
When the Father's in the room (He’s going to make all things new...& without imperfection!)
Prodigals come home (“And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.” Luke‬ ‭15:20‬ )
The helpless find hope (May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans‬ ‭15:13‬)
Love is on the move
When the Father's in the room
Prison doors fling wide (“The Lord sets the prisoners free;” Psalm‬ ‭146:7‬, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John‬ ‭8:36‬)
The dead come to life (even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—” Ephesians‬ ‭2:5‬ )
Love is on the move (we love bc He first loved us!)
When the Father's in the room
Miracles take place (as His mighty hand performs them!)
The cynical find faith (For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,” Ephesians‬ ‭2:8‬ )
And love is breaking through (& His love conquers all!)
When the Father's in the room
The Jericho walls are quaking
Strongholds now are shaking (How God can break down the walls in our heart & the obstacles in our world)
Love is breaking through
When the Father's in the room
(Amen!!)

God is Good!

Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...

Song in my Soul

Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too! There's a song in my soul ( how music goes deep into the core of who we are!) And I feel it stirring in me ( springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!) This I know for sure ( faith is the assurance of what we know but don’t see) That Your love is like a flood ( washing & washing over me ! And Your mercy never ending ( “ The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬)  I give my song to You ( “ Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants...Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastl...
