Saturday Song for the Soul 8/22

Oh I just love this song! (My boys hear me say this all the time when we’re listening to music in the car, especially the Message, channel 63! I heard the song again driving home from a lunch with dear friends, one of them dealing with an ongoing 8-year, 8-surgery (so far) battle with a brain tumor. What a beautiful warrior and woman of God she is, such an amazing example and inspiration of living by faith, strengthened by the joy of the Lord! I had just been praying about what song to highlight this week- as soon as I heard it, I knew!

Right now I'm staring down a giant (physically it’s this cancer right now but spiritually, mentally and emotionally, this isn’t my first rodeo with giants, usually of my own making! They’re all too common, each with their own unique size, shape & features!)

Right now I can't see past my pain (this too comes in a variety of faces, physical, mental, emotional &/or spiritual. It might be new & acute, or old & chronic)

And right now my songs have turned to silence (when I stop making a joyful noise unto You, shouting Your praises & communicating with You in prayer!)
And You've never seemed so far away (when I dwell on the darkness instead of turning to the Light, seeking You & allowing the truth of Your Word to be a Lamp to my feet and a Light to my path!)
But I still believe, I still believe (May my faith be as firm as the immoveable Foundation on which it stands)
There's no heart You can't rescue (Amen! “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.”  Ezekiel‬ ‭36:26-27)
No war You can't win (“the victory belongs to the Lord.” Proverbs 21:31-You’ve already claimed the ultimate, eternal victory over sin, death and sadness!)
No story so over, it can't start again (You make our test our testimony, our mess our message, all things beautiful in Your perfect time! Ecclesiastes 3:11)
No pain You won't use (“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans‬ ‭8:28‬) ‭
No wall You won't break through (umm, let me just say the mighty walls of Jericho...crumbled at Your command!))
It might be too much for me (oh and it will be! But when I choose to trust in and rely on You and Your immeasurable might, power and strength...)
But there is no impossible with You (“Jesus said, ‘with man it is impossible,  it not with God.  For all things are possible with God.’” Mark 10:27)

Right now You're fighting all my battles (“you shall not fear, it is the Lord your God who goes before you, He will fight for you and give victory, just as He promised.” Deut. 1:30, 3:22, 20:4)
Right now You're breathing life again (“I will put my breath in you, & you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.” Ezekiel 37:6)
Oh-oh, and I know You're mighty in my weakness (“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9-10‬ )

So right now my soul will say amen (“Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name...& forget not all His benefits, He who forgives,...heals,...redeems,...satisfies,...& crowns you with steadfast love and mercy.” Psalm 103:1-5)
Your name is greater (& higher than any other, greatly to be praised!)
Your love is stronger (“Greater love has no one than this, that He lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13)
Your ways are higher (“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah‬ ‭55:8-9‬)

There's nothing that You can't do

God is Good!

 Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...

Song in my Soul

  Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too! There's a song in my soul ( how music goes deep into the core of who we are!) And I feel it stirring in me ( springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!)
