Sunday Sermon Snippets

We’re continuing through the Fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23

Sermon on peace. https://subspla.sh/4tmhfyy

One of my favorite verses on peace is Philippians 4:6-7

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

How do we have peace that passes understanding to guard & protect the thoughts, emotions, doubts, questions, fears of our heart & mind?

Bring them to the One who cares and can do something about our concerns, unlike our worry & anxiety that only rob us of it! And do it with a genuine attitude of gratitude!

Another favorite is Isaiah 26:3 “He (God) keeps him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him.”’

...& the things of God- His perfect plans & timing to unfold them, His unwavering goodness in ALL . I was talking to Pattie Brown, a joy-filled sister in Christ, who was recently diagnosed with a rare eye cancer. As I prayed for her vision, I thanked God for the perfect vision He’s given us as He’s opened our spiritually blind eyes to have an eternal perspective on earthly plots.

Sermon on patience. https://subspla.sh/w9kp624

Again we can be patient in the daily provocations with a long-view of the end game in mind  We know how it ends! He used the analogy of a soldier in a foxhole in the thick of the battle when he knows victory is certain!

God is teaching me to be patient with myself. He’s not done writing my story. As long as I’m alive & breathing, He’s not done with me, He’s still refining and shaping me into His image. If He can be patient with me, I can be too😊

God is Good!

Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...

Song in my Soul

Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too! There's a song in my soul ( how music goes deep into the core of who we are!) And I feel it stirring in me ( springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!) This I know for sure ( faith is the assurance of what we know but don’t see) That Your love is like a flood ( washing & washing over me ! And Your mercy never ending ( “ The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬)  I give my song to You ( “ Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants...Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastl...
