Teach Me, Lord, Tuesday

A compilation of quotes for contemplation & courage

“Don’t judge a day by the harvest but by the seeds planted.”

LOVE that!! Thank you, sweet Anna Banana for     sharing that at Home Fellowship Group last week!

“Quiet, rest & reflection are Gods idea. Stop feeling bad for needing what the Lord says I need. When I change my mindset to elevate the value of soul care, I prioritize QTs as a necessity rather than a luxury I don’t deserve...like refueling. Complication is the enemy of consistency. The more elaborate I made my plans to connect with the Lord, the more prone they are to fail.” Melissa Spoelstra.

I’m learning to slow down, be still (my body, mind & heart) & to give myself grace! As my hubby says, to lower my expectations so I’m not always letting myself down

A dear friend gave me the awesome devotional “Streams in the Desert”. I loved this quote from Phillips Brooks “Never pray for an easier life- pray to be a stronger person! Never pray for tasks equal to your power-pray for power equal to your tasks. Then doing your work will be no miracle- you will be the miracle (through the working of His Holy Spirit)”

“The eagle doesn’t escape the storm but uses it to lift himself higher. He rises on the winds that bring the storm. God has allowed the storm of cancer in your life, and He will give you the strength to rise above it until He ultimately calms it.”

You may never know that JESUS is all you need, until JESUS is all you have.”

God is Good!

Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...

Song in my Soul

Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too! There's a song in my soul ( how music goes deep into the core of who we are!) And I feel it stirring in me ( springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!) This I know for sure ( faith is the assurance of what we know but don’t see) That Your love is like a flood ( washing & washing over me ! And Your mercy never ending ( “ The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬)  I give my song to You ( “ Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants...Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastl...
