Then This...Thursday

Quick update from this week. I went in yesterday to get labs drawn (getting used to feeling like a pin-cushion...soft & squishy and poked a lot😄) to see how my body responded to the Neupogen (bone marrow booster shot) I got Friday & Monday. My counts were great, even a little above normal! Yay! Thank You, Lord!! So I didn’t need another shot & I had my boxing gloves on for a bone marrow beat-down today! Dave came in with me today before I went in the ring for my 5th match with Taxol to meet with my “coach”(aka oncologist). He was pleased with my numbers & my tolerance of the attacks. A sweet friend just reminded me of the wise words from the great Rocky Balboa It ain’t about how hard ya hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward”. Her words of encouragement followed “you will keep getting hit, by the cancer and by the treatment, but one thing I know about you is that you are a tough fighter who will keep pushing forward. And more importantly, I know that God is at your back, moving you forward. If you stumble or fall,  God will pick you up and move you forward.” Amen!
Got all set up in my little cubicle with a view on the 5th floor of the Leonard Cancer Center with my cozy socks, hat, blanket (so appreciate these thoughtful, great gifts!) & books. I put my feet up, sipped my tea & settled in for the next few hours of peace & quiet while the silent cell-destroying “healer” infused. And so it goes. Getting kinda used to my weekly routine😊
This too is the day that the Lord has made. I will choose to rejoice and be glad in it!!

God is Good!

Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...

Song in my Soul

Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too! There's a song in my soul ( how music goes deep into the core of who we are!) And I feel it stirring in me ( springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!) This I know for sure ( faith is the assurance of what we know but don’t see) That Your love is like a flood ( washing & washing over me ! And Your mercy never ending ( “ The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬)  I give my song to You ( “ Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants...Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastl...
