Saturday Song for the Soul: Keep Me in the Moment (Lord!)

Thank You, Lord, for teaching and Keeping me in each & every Moment fully present with You!!

I've been thinking 'bout time and where does it go (Seriously! The days may feel long but oh, how the years fly by!)

How can I stop my life from passing me by, I don't know (I’m already 3 weeks away from finishing 5 months of chemo!...& I feel like I’m just starting to settle in to being still so I don’t let life and the opportunity to learn SO during this season pass me by because I didn’t slow my brain & my body down enough to “smell the roses,” taste & see His goodness, listen to His wise & wonderful whispers, allow the Great Physician to do a check up & tune up of my head & heart, schedule a soul survey with my Savior!)

I've been thinking 'bout family and how it's going so fast (how do I have 2 high schoolers- a senior, heading off to college next year!, & a sophomore, and an 8th grader...all taller than me!)
Will I wake up one morning just wishing that I could go back? (Oh Lord, there’s too many mornings that I already feel that way!!)
I've been thinking 'bout lately, maybe (God has been teaching me in this)
I can make a change and let you change me (The only way I can make any true, lasting change is for His Spirit to transform me from the inside out!)
So, with all of my heart this is my prayer (Amen! Yes it is!)
Singing oh Lord (what better way to communicate with our great God that in heartfelt singing, a joyful song?!) keep me in the moment (so I can experience the precious present of the being fully present)
Help me live with my eyes wide open (so that my heart & head might take in all that I see, hear, smell, taste, feel, touch to heighten my experience & maximize my learn & grow, bless and be blessed!)
'Cause I don't wanna miss what you have for me (what a tragedy that would be as You always have the BEST for every one of us!)
Singing (Hallelujah)!) oh Lord, show me what matters (so that I know what to focus on, go deep with, take seriously In order to enjoy it & all of life to the fullest as well...when I have my priorities in line with Yours)
Throw away what I'm chasing after (anything that won’t last the test of time, that I can’t take with me in eternity!
'Cause I don't wanna miss what you have for me (which is always the best so I’d be a fool to want anything less!)
Keep me in the moment (present in the present)
Oh, keep me in the moment (because it’s a gift from You)
Keep me in the moment (trusting You with the regrets & failures of the past as well as the hopes & fears of the future)
'Cause I don't wanna miss what you have for me (it’s too good to miss!)
When I wake up in the morning (reminding my self that “this is the day that You have made. Let me rejoice & be glad in it! Psalm 118:24)
Lord, search my heart (& realign it to Yours. Psalm 139:23)
Don't let me stray (keep my course True North, following Your straight & narrow path Way of Truth that leads to Life lit by Your Word. Psalm 119:105, Proverbs 3:5-6, 4:25-27, John 14:6)
I just wanna stay where you are (in Your presence is fullness of joy! Psalm 16:11)
All I got is one shot, one try (each day is a gift I can’t reopen. “And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,” Hebrews‬ ‭9:27‬) ‭
One go around in this beautiful life
Nothing is wasted when everything's placed in your hands (“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
Singing oh Lord, keep me in the moment
Help me live with my eyes wide open
'Cause I don't wanna miss what you have for me (what you have for me)
Singing oh Lord, show me what matters
Throw away what I'm chasing after
'Cause I don't wanna miss what you have for me (what you have for me)
I've been thinking about heaven (“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Colossians‬ ‭3:2‬)
And the promise you hold (“God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose” Hebrews‬ ‭6:17‬ )
So, it's all eyes on you (“my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death.” Psalms‬ ‭141:8‬ ‭
Until the day you call me home

God is Good!

Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...

Song in my Soul

Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too! There's a song in my soul ( how music goes deep into the core of who we are!) And I feel it stirring in me ( springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!) This I know for sure ( faith is the assurance of what we know but don’t see) That Your love is like a flood ( washing & washing over me ! And Your mercy never ending ( “ The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬)  I give my song to You ( “ Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants...Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastl...
