THE FINAL COUNTDOWN... dada da da 🎵ddda da da🎶
15 down, 1 to go!! Woohoo!! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, I’ve got the finish line in my sights!! I’m like at mile 26 of a marathon...so close...but I still have .2 to go! I can’t start sprinting to the end too soon (I’ve made that mistake before). I gotta be patient and get through one more week before celebrating the end of phase one!!
This one went pretty much par for the course again with good blood counts, no pre-meds, great nurses...but the thing that set this one apart was my special companion who was able to accompany me this time: my dear friend, Jenn!! One of my very best (& longest) friends in the world! We met freshman year at Calvin College and were roommates all the way through college/nursing school She flew all the way out from Grand Rapids, Michigan to be by my side and support me through this time! I am beyond
grateful for her longtime friendship, practical care & the blessing that it was to have her here! And the timely blessing that the hospital opened up and allowed one visitor to accompany me a week before she came! Thank You, Lord! Such a sweet time together and more lifelong memories made!
And I have to give a shout out to my dear friend, Nick Nick (as we affectionately nicknamed him on our medical missions trip together to serve the people of Guatemala last Thanksgiving). He is one of the “interesting men in the world”(that’s how the commercial goes, right?😄)...Orange County lifeguard, nationally-ranked swimmer, wood-carver, craftsman, writer, poet, historian...& an amazing chiropractor! He too has been such a blessing as he has graciously given me weekly adjustments throughout my treatments to help keep me in tip-top shape fight fierce & give it my best 1-2 punch!👊🏼
