Surgery tomorrow

The day has finally come, the waiting is over...surgery is tomorrow! I have to check in at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach at 8:30 for a dye injection into my armpit so they can do “lymph-mapping” at 9 and then to the OR at 10:30. With the Covid restrictions, Dave will just be able to drop me off and then pick me up Tuesday when I’m discharged to go home. So weird to not be able to have anyone in there with me before or after. But as a dear friend reaffirmed “you won’t be alone.” What blessed assurance that aa a child of the King, He will always be with me and take care of me, however He knows is best for me- my growth and His glory! He is working it all out for GOOD, eternal good that starts now! that He’s already planned out from eternity past! PTL!! I feel great about the team God brought together in the 7th inning (6 weeks b4 surgery!)  my breast surgeon, plastic surgeon and the facility! I’ve been so impressed with Hoag with all the pre-op work I did up there last week! Stellar top-notch care!

We had a great weekend away with fun friends out at Havasu playing on jet skis & wave runners, getting wild rides on tubes pulled by skilled boat-drivers🤣, jumped off cliffs, etc before I go under the knife. Thankful God kept me & everyone safe as we thoroughly enjoyed our time together!

But I didn’t get to finish all the blog posts I’ve started🥺 so hopefully I’ll be able to work on them when I’m alone with the Author of life tomorrow night!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.””  Joshua‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭

“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” Lamentations‬ ‭3:21-26‬ ‭

God is Good!

Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...

Song in my Soul

Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too! There's a song in my soul ( how music goes deep into the core of who we are!) And I feel it stirring in me ( springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!) This I know for sure ( faith is the assurance of what we know but don’t see) That Your love is like a flood ( washing & washing over me ! And Your mercy never ending ( “ The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬)  I give my song to You ( “ Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants...Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastl...
