Saturday Song for the Soul: Good Good Father

Good Good Father by Chris Tomlin

Oh, I've heard a thousand stories of what they think You're like (so many thoughts & opinions about the Creator of all by His creations. Luke 9:18-20)

But I've heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night (His tender loving care is so clearly seen in the dark & heard in the chaos when I have the spiritual eyes & ears of my heart fixed on Him & attentive to His voice. John 10:27-28)

And You tell me that You're pleased and that I'm never alone (because I have a personal, intimate, reconciled relationship with the Lover of my soul who will never leave me nor forsake, who never sleeps nor slumbers, who is always there to comfort me in His Word & deed. Joshua 1:8-9)
You're a good, good Father (my perfect Heavenly Father. 1 John 3:1)
It's who You are, it's who You are, it's who You are (& You are the same yesterday, today & tomorrow. You do not change! Hebrews 13:8)
And I'm loved by You (Jeremiah 31:3)
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am (Amen! I am a beloved child of the unchanging King of all creation!)
Oh and I've seen many searching for answers far and wide (may we always seek real answers from the foundational source of all, absolute Truth- the unchanging Word of God! John 5:36-40)
But I know we're all searching for answers only You provide Deuteronomy 4.28-30, John 14:6)
'Cause You know just what we need before we say a word (Matthew 6:8)
You're a good, good Father
It's who You are, it's who You are, it's who You are
And I'm loved by You
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
Because You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us
(Ohh) You are perfect in all of Your ways (all of Your ways)
Oh, You're perfect in all of Your ways (Your ways)
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us
Oh, it's love so undeniable I
I can hardly speak
Peace so unexplainable I
I can hardly think
As You call me deeper still
As You call me deeper still
As You call me deeper still into love, love, love
You're a good, good Father
It's who You are, it's who You are, it's who You are
And I'm loved by You
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
You're a good, good Father
It's who You are, it's who You are, it's who You are
And I'm loved by You
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am

God is Good!

Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...

Song in my Soul

Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too! There's a song in my soul ( how music goes deep into the core of who we are!) And I feel it stirring in me ( springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!) This I know for sure ( faith is the assurance of what we know but don’t see) That Your love is like a flood ( washing & washing over me ! And Your mercy never ending ( “ The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬)  I give my song to You ( “ Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants...Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastl...
