Saturday Song for the Soul: There was Jesus

There was Jesus by Dolly Parton and Zach Williams

Every time I tried to make it on my own (everything I am and have comes from Him!)
Every time I tried to stand and start to fall (He is the lifter of my head and the holder of my hand, gently when times are smoothe, tightly when times get tough)
And all those lonely roads that I have travelled on (even when no one is with me, I’m never alone! When I’m tempted to feel alone, I need to remind myself of this unchanging truth! He will never leave nor forsake me)
There was Jesus (Amen!)
When the life I built came crashing to the ground (if it’s not built on the rock solid Foundation of gospel truth from God but rather on the shifting sand of this world as Christ tells us in Matthew 7:24-27)
When the friends I had were nowhere to be found (there are times we find ourselves alone even with the most faithful of friends)
I couldn't see it then but I can see it now (the sun is always there even when it’s unseen due to cloud cover or in the darkness of night only it’s reflection in the moon)
There was Jesus (Amen!)
In the waiting (on Him & His perfect timing Ecc. 3:11), in the searching (for His Word to guide me and light my path)
In the healing and the hurting (just as radical, painful surgery is required to remove the dangerous, damaging cancer and bring true healing)
Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces (oh how I’ve seen His Light shone so brightly and beautifully through through the cracks and brokenness in my life! We are more than conquerors in Christ bc He’s already defeated sin, death and disease but He also uses them to teach us more about Him & us, & conform us to His likeness)
Every minute, every moment (my all-present God is always with me! He never sleeps nor slumbers)
Where I've been and where I'm going (from my first day to my last and every one in between)
Even when I didn't know it or couldn't see it (He sees it all perfectly & clearly
There was Jesus (Amen and thank You! I’m humbled and grateful to do this life with You by my side and as my Guide!)
For this man who needs amazing kind of grace (Mmm)
For forgiveness at a price I couldn't pay (Mmm)
I'm not perfect so I thank God every day
There was Jesus (There was Jesus)
In the waiting, in the searching
In the healing and the hurting
Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces
Every minute, every moment
Where I've been and where I'm going
Even when I didn't know it or couldn't see it
There was Jesus
On the mountain, in the valleys (There was Jesus)
In the shadows of the alleys (There was Jesus)
In the fire, in the flood (There was Jesus)
Always is and always was
No I never walk alone (Never walk alone)
You are always there
In the waiting, in the searching
In the healing and the hurting
Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces
Every minute (Every minute), every moment (Every moment)
Where I've been and where I'm going
Even when I didn't know it or couldn't see it
There was Jesus

God is Good!

Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...

Song in my Soul

Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too! There's a song in my soul ( how music goes deep into the core of who we are!) And I feel it stirring in me ( springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!) This I know for sure ( faith is the assurance of what we know but don’t see) That Your love is like a flood ( washing & washing over me ! And Your mercy never ending ( “ The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬)  I give my song to You ( “ Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants...Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastl...
