Song in my Soul

Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham

A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too!

There's a song in my soul (how music goes deep into the core of who we are!)

And I feel it stirring in me (springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!)

This I know for sure (faith is the assurance of what we know but don’t see)
That Your love is like a flood (washing & washing over me!
And Your mercy never ending (The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬)
I give my song to You (Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants...Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastlands.” Isaiah‬ ‭42:10, 12‬ )
There's a joy in my soul
And it rises like a morning (a spiritual Sonrise!)
This I know for sure (no room for doubt when we know our faithful, loving God who’s the same yesterday, today & tomorrow)
That Your grace is enough (My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” says the Lord. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9-10‬ ‭And Your promise never breaking
I give my song to You (Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God...whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”Col. ‭3:16-17‬ ‭
All of Your goodness
Is like a well running over (“I am filled with comfort. In all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy.”2 Corinthians‬ ‭7:4‬ ‭And all my soul, it sings for You (I make a joyful noise to the One who put the song in my soul!)
For all of Your goodness (too much to quantify!)
I will love You forever (as I get to spend eternity with You expressing my love for & gratitude to You, Your work on the cross to save my soul!)
All my songs, I'll sing for You (“Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!” 1 Chronicles‬ ‭16:9‬)
Yes all my songs I'll sing for You
There's a hope in my heart (& it doesn’t disappoint! “Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans‬ ‭5:3-5‬)
Burning bright in the darkness (the Refiners fire enlightens the dark places of my heart)
This I know for sure
That I will look upon Your face
Forever dwell in Your presence
And all I sing to You (Amen! What hope & Joy that truth brings to each & everyday!)
Let my life be to You a symphony (“I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.” Psalm‬ ‭104:33‬)
Singin' out "Holy, Holy" (proclaiming Who You are!)
All my days, every single breath I breathe
Singin' out "Holy, Holy" (with every breathe you give me!)

God is Good!

Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...
