Final Chapter, Last Hoorah!

Well it’s been a while. I’m back from a long hibernation.  So much to write about since my last entry but that’ll have to wait. Right now I’m focusing at the issue at hand....my reconstructive surgery tomorrow at 10:15am, 10 months after my first one, a double mastectomy last November and 6 months after my last radiation treatment. This time they’ll remove my “Barbie boobs” and replace them with “normal” implants, along with a little needle liposuction to fill in and pad around them as I don't have any of my own breast tissue- I have plenty of adipose (aka fat!) tissue, just none there so they’re relocating some. I’ve never been “well indowed” and never need to be but take as much adipose tissue from my belly and thighs. Like they say it’s all about “location, location, location!!” 😊 My skin, muscles, nerve, tendons, etc are still stretched tight and taught, numb and tender on the radiated side so I’ve faithful done my daily pool routine with laps and exercises to stretch and loosen the area.  We’ll see how it feels after they get in there and mess around again and cut out the expanders that have been sewn to my rib muscles/chest wall for 10 months🥺

Lord, thank You for being with me every step of the way and giving me amazing flesh-and-blood friends to walk alongside me! Thank You for holding me in the palm of Your loving hands! You are the Creator & Sustainer of my life, physically & spiritually, the Author & Perfecter of my faith, my Lord & Savior, Source of Hope, joy and strength, the Great Physician to heal my body and my soul!

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who has called us to His own glory & goodness.” 2 Peter 1:3.

“Through endurance & through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” Romans 15:4

Amen! PTL!

God is Good!

Well I’m finally back. I have written SO many mental posts with updates and what’s God been teaching me!! Then when I finally get a minute to actually take them out of my mind and onto the screen, my mind bottlenecks and gets overwhelmed with all I want & need to write...it exhausts me & I end up concluding that I’m too tired and don’t have time to transcribe all that’s in my mind onto digital paper. But as I sit here alone at the Denver airport on a long layover en route to Atlanta to celebrate my sisters 50th, I’m starting! We both have September birthdays, hers being on the 10th. We decided to save the celebrating til my chemo was complete, hence the delayed timing of the trip. My younger sister who lives here in Colorado is on her way to meet me and we’ll fly this leg if the trip together! And my parents are traveling from Michigan to meet us as well! How crazy (& sad!) that we are all spread out across the country, coast to coast, north to south- we are so close r...

Song in my Soul

Song in my Soul by Phil Wickham A dear friend sent this to me with her daily encouragement & prayer...I loved it from the first time I heard it! I hope you will too! There's a song in my soul ( how music goes deep into the core of who we are!) And I feel it stirring in me ( springing up from the well of His Word to satisfy the thirsty, he who drinks the Living Water will never thirst again!) This I know for sure ( faith is the assurance of what we know but don’t see) That Your love is like a flood ( washing & washing over me ! And Your mercy never ending ( “ The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23‬)  I give my song to You ( “ Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants...Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastl...
